That's good to know Matt. I think a lot of people fall into this category...there's more to life than just money. Thanks so much for posting a comment! And I have to agree: fourhourworkweek.com is a great blog.

Good observations. What's even scarier is that credit card debt is being securitized and sold off just like the mortgage-backed securities. I saw a good article about this at www.financialspeculation.com.

"The securitized debt backed by credit card receivables is a $915 billion industry. Increased defaults could unravel the whole game, just as delinquencies in the housing market brought down the $900 billion in mortgaged-backed securities."

The authors, Jose Roncal and Jose Abbo have also just written a book called The Big Gamble with savvy information about spotting and avoiding financial bubbles before it's too late. Looks like Donald Trump has endorsed it, so it's got some good stuff.

Personally, teenagers and people in their 20s have never experienced a terrible economy and most of their parents got them in poor spending habits. I don't think most of (us) have it in (us). It's a shame
Also, I saw you on Twitter as a young entrepreneur. I wanted to invite you to a private young entrepreneurs network where you can meet young entrepreneurs, promote yourself/your business and share experiences.

I think it'd be great for you to get involved in the community.

Hope to connect with you soon. Shoot me an email

The credit card issuers have already been pro-actively taking risk measure.

These includes measures such as reduction on card credit limit as much as 50%, increase APR(interest rates) and freezing balance transfers facility.

If you max out on your credit card, it'll hurt your credit rating when the credit limit cut hitting you. it's advisable to make sure your spend only 50% of your card limit(30% is better).

The best way o use credit card at the moment is treat it like a charge card, pay in full every month and do not try to use the money you don't have.

Now, the new mantra is: "WHAT you know determines who you CAN know." And who you can know makes a difference.

That sentence made the entire post.

Damn this stuff is good!

Sassy,

Thanks for the comment! I agree that it is easy to take the negativity as truth when you seem to hear it everywhere. The "cool" thing today is to talk about all the stuff that's going on and how it's negatively impacting everything. Well, there are always two sides to a coin, and there is definitely a positive aspect to what's going on. I thank you for taking the time to stop and re-assess your thoughts, choosing instead to focus on the positive. I wish you the best of luck on your journey to the life you desire!

We all need a little reminder like this now and then. I find myself being a glass half empty person in the effort to be a realist. But lately I do notice myself trying to put a more positive spin on things and I know this affects how I feel internally. Bottom line is, we decide how happy we're going to be today, tomorrow and forever. If we let someone else decide, it's too easy to take the negativity for truth because there's so much of it out there.
